The Cottage
We are pleased to say that The Cottage is up and running as of the middle of October, 2009. For you who may not be familiar with “what” The Cottage is, let me share in brief. After the death of Helen Dickson in March of 2006, her home was turned into a little tea house and museum. This took some time, but was ready to be used at our 75th homecoming event, and was a great success. It’s been used on several occasions since then, but not on a regular basis.
This year seemed to be the right time to open it up for the students and staff. Rita MacFarlane and myself are presently working together to make The Cottage a warm and inviting place to come for something hot to drink and a sweet, along with quiet conversation, or reading, or studying, or mentoring, as these types of things take place there every day. We feel that this is a great and wonderful addition to our campus, and are glad that some of you have been able to come enjoy a cup of tea with us.
