112 Alumni were registered for the 1960’s/1970’s alumni reunion that was held during the May long weekend. It was a wonderful weekend of memories, reflection and laughter.
A highlight of the weekend was the Sunday morning service. Dennis Kirsch lead the morning service. John Regier, Millar’s music director from 1967-1973 chose a team of alumni to help him lead the singing and what wonderful singing as people sang out in harmony their praises to God. There was a quartet – Gerald Gliege, Glenn Miller, Lloyd Peters and Leroy Peters were accompanied by Joyce Friesen. They sang so well that everyone wondered if they should buy a bus and go touring. Our speaker for the morning was Henry Ozirney and his message had everyone laughing but also was such a wonderful reminder that obedience to God’s call is a successful ministry. The service closed with a mixed trio, Gerald and Audrey Gliege, and Glen Miller.
The morning offering was designated towards new carpeting in the dining hall and the total offering was over $9000 which the college is very thankful for.
Connie Peters had collected some ‘treasures’ from Miss Dickson’s house and there was a silent auction for those items. $663 was raised and those funds will go towards the student aid fund.
