Since 2005, Millar College of the Bible has offered
students the chance to audition for Replica, a touring worship/ministry
team. Each year, Replica travels
Alberta, Saskatchewan, and Manitoba, leading teams in worship, ministering
through youth retreats, and sharing God in song, word, and deed.
The makeup of the team changes year by year, depending on
auditions and ministry opportunities.
Typically, Replica will feature a sound man, public relations person,
drummer, bass player, keyboardist, lead guitarist, and two to four vocalists. Generally, a rhythm guitar is included in the
team, with the role being filled by one of the college staff. In addition, this past year we created a
prayer coordinator position and hope to continue filling the role in years to
come.
Besides leading in worship, the team regularly has the
opportunity to speak (sermon/devotional), give testimonies, participate in
youth games, and lead small group discussions.
The opportunities are very dependent on the sorts of weeks we are booked
into, and so the team prepares to cover as many of the listed activities as
possible, realizing we are there to serve the host groups, and what they need
most. Typically, due to the style of
music Replica has done, conventional Sunday morning services are not a regular
part of our ministry. The music list
changes year by year, but typically includes songs by David Crowder, Chris
Tomlin, Kutless, Jeremy Camp, and Hillsong.
Ministry first…with music being an important but not
exclusive part of our ministry.
Interested in being stretched, leading teens in worship, and trying new
ministries? Auditions for Replica take
place each September.
Have an event or group where Replica could minister? Contact us! We take bookings on a first come, first
serve basis. Due to travel times, our
ministry tends to focus on groups within eight hours of Millar College of the
Bible, but exceptions have been made.
